This Saturday Night boxing fight IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud is going to face WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson on September 28, 2013 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. The main event will be on air at 10:15 PM ET/PT.

Stevenson (21-1, 18 KO) knocked out Dawson in just 76 seconds two months ago, a stunning victory in his move up to 175 pounds, after long competing at 168 and angling unsuccessfully for title shots in that division. Though his power is impressive and very real, Stevenson may have a tougher assignment with Cloud (24-1, 19 KO), a fresher and more aggressive fighter who should be willing to go toe-to-toe if he has to do so.
Stevenson hasn’t had to face any real punchers in any of his fights, unless you want to count Darnell Boone in that category. Stevenson was knocked out in the 2nd round by Boone in April of 2010.
The 31-year-old Cloud is coming off of his first career loss, a fairly predictable outclassing at the hands of Bernard Hopkins in March. Both fighters have power, the difference being that Stevenson's has proved out against his better opposition, while Cloud's really hasn't.
Cloud isn’t a great fighter on the outside, but he’s a lot more difficult to tangle with if he can get close enough to his opponents to wear them down with his high volume punching. If there’s a weakness in Stevenson’s game, it’s on the inside where he’s unable to use his speed. Stevenson’s punching form breaks down completely when his opponents have him trapped in close, and becomes a more beatable fighter.
The bout is the first half of a split-site doubleheader that will be televised on HBO. The second fight features the return of former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who will battle the rugged Brian Vera.
