At least two workers were killed and two injured in a boiler explosion at a rice mill at Dakbangla bazaar under Jhenaidah sadar upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Shafi Uddin, 40, and Aslam Hossain, 38.
Witnesses said the boiler of the rice mill exploded at around 10:30pm, leaving Shafi and Aslam dead on the spot and two others injured. Firefighters later rescued the injured two and had them sent over to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital at around 11pm.
Lutfar Raham of Jhenaidah fire station said the explosion might have might have been caused by a shortage of water in the boiler.
