Noted jurist Dr Kamal Hossain on Thursday said the ruling government has made the judiciary, election commission and anti-corruption commission weak.
“Elections under the supervision of a partisan government will not be free, fair and credible,” he said while addressing a public rally organised by Nagorik Oikko at Laldighi grounds in Chittagong in the afternoon.
He said: “People are the actual source of power. If people resist, then we can remove any kind of misdeed.”
Nagorik Oikko Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna said the caretaker government system was not rejected according to any law, but rather was removed by amending the constitution at the desire of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Sheikh Hasina is lying for votes. Her words cannot be believed,” he said.
