Faridpur road crash kills 4

Four people, including three of a family, were killed and 26 others injured on Saturday in a road accident on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gangabardi area of sadar upazila in Faridpur.

The deceased were Asaduzzaman Mithu, 32, Reshma Begum, 28, and their five-year-old daughter Trisha of Satkhira and bus driver Siraj, 40, of Jessore.

ASP Kamruzzaman said the accident took place around 2:30am when a Jessore-bound truck from Dhaka collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound bus of

SP Golden Lines leaving Siraj and Trisha dead on the spot and 26 others injured.

The injured were rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where Mithu and Reshma died.

Twelve of the injured were admitted to the hospital.

The bus driver managed to flee, said police.
