Swiss Film Festival on at Alliance Française

A two day film festival titled “Swiss Film Festival” starts from 3pm today at Alliance Française de Dhaka auditorium. The fest is a joint collaboration of embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and Alliance Française de Dhaka. Popular Swiss films with English subtitles will be screened and entry is free for all.

The festival will open today at 3pm with “Henry Dunant – du Rouge sur la Croix (Henry Dunant- Red on the Cross),” a 95 minute fiction. The film is a true story based on fact about the struggle led by Henry Dunant, which resulted in the creation of the Red Cross: a breathtaking, sweeping epic, worthy of Dunant’s passionate commitment and dedication.

Two more films will be screened today, “Mon frère se marie (My brother is getting married)” at 4:50pm and “Tandoori Love” at 6:40pm respectively.

Tomorrow, the screening will start from 2pm with a repeat of Henry Dunant – du Rouge sur la Croix, followed by “Sister” at 3:50pm, “My Brother is Getting Married” at 5:40pm and “Tandoori Love” at 7:30pm.

The story of the entertaining flick “Tandoori Love” is about Sonja, a waitress at a guesthouse in the Bernese Oberland and happily engaged to her boss Markus. Everything changes when an Indian chef called Rajah enters her life. Rajah is the chef on a Bollywood film set, but when he spies Sonja in the supermarket it is love at first sight. He starts working at the guesthouse where his artful cooking sets Markus on a culinary mission and soon attracts the jet set. Even Sonja allows herself to be seduced. Meanwhile, Bollywood diva Priya is on strike because her personal chef has disappeared, and a hunt for Rajah ensues. Sonja now has the difficult task of choosing between marriage and adventure.
