5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Dhaka

The tremor was felt around 8:11am on Tuesday. Duty officer at Bangladesh Meteorological Department told the Dhaka Tribune that the earthquake originated 409km east of their office. According to the US Geological survey, the epicentre of the earthquake was located 40km North-East of Mawlaik, Myanmar. The duty office, however, said the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale.
