Telecom operator Robi is set to inaugurate the soft launch of its 3.5G services in October this year and by December they would extend the service to 40% of its subscribers, which would basically cover 60% area of the country.
Robi’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michael Kuehner came up with the announcement at a press conference at a city hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
Replying to a query why Robi termed the service 3.5G, Kuehner said: “The expression includes the extended facilities and speed of the service that the operator intended to provide.”
While making the announcement, Michael Kuehner also vowed to ensure best quality of the service for its customers.
He told journalist that Robi paid Tk5.7bn as license fee Tuesday morning.
