Hundreds of passengers remained stuck for hours in a 10-kilomtre tailback on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway after a truck collided head-on with a pickup truck in Comilla’s Chandina upazila Friday morning.
Comilla central police control room said the accident took place in Chaigaria area around 6am in the morning.
Iliajganj Police Outpost Sergeant, Mohammad Hassan told Dhaka Tribune: “The truck driver has been taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.”
However, the official could not give further details regarding the matter.
He said: “A tailback, at least stretch over 10 kilometres of road, was prevailing in the area since morning.”
“We are trying to fix the problem,” Mohammad Hassan said.
