Hundreds of passengers remained stuck for hours in a 20-kilometre tailback on Dhaka-Chittagong highway after a schoolboy was killed in a road crash on Tuesday.
Describing the incident, highway police outpost in-charge Shohel Imtiaz said traffic on the busy highway halted as a truck of BSRM ran over Taslim, 12, a class VI student of Sonaichhari High School around 2:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
The traffic on the busy highway halted as the agitated students took to the street and barricaded the highway, he added.
Hundreds of vehicles including buses and trucks queued up, creating a huge tailback till the filing of the report around 4:50pm.
