Update : 02 Sep 2013, 11:30 AM

A total of 364 persons have been indicted in seven cases for their alleged involvement with attacks on Buddhist temples and houses in Ramu, Ukhia and Teknaf in September last year.

Police have submitted charge sheets of the cases on Sunday and Monday.

Of the indicted persons, 193 have been arrested so far.

Of the seven cases, two each were filed with Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ukhia and Teknaf and one with Ramu.

Officials with the police stations have confirmed about the submission of the charge sheets.

Police have hurriedly submitted the charge sheets ahead of prime minister’s visit to Cox’s Bazar on Monday, police officials said.

At least 15,182 people have been made accused for the attack on the Buddhist temple and community on September 29 and 30 following a tag that was propagated as derogatory to Islam to incite attack.
