Prominent and talented actor Shatabdi Wadud, will appear in a dozen of TV productions this Eid. The national award winning star has also become regular in silver screen and has been entertaining the audiences with his versatility and realistic performance. He won the National Film Award 2011 in the anti-hero category for his performance in the film "Guerilla." Dhaka Tribune recently caught up with the seasoned actor to know about his Eid special ventures and more:
Tell us about your Eid projects: I'm involved in different dimensional dramas for this Eid and am almost done with all my recent ventures. At the same time, I am busy with shooting of my new films.
Could you mention some of your works that the audience will appreciate this Eid? I have worked in Jayanta Rozario's "Caught Behind," SM Sumon's "Love and Life," Ferary Farhad's "Story" and many more. I am done with another drama written by Zafar Iqbal, "Oporadh Bishoyok Golpo."
Which one is your favourite? Actually, this Eid, I loved shooting for each of the characters. Many of my works were enjoyable and each character had its own forte. One of them is really very fascinating. "Oporadh Bishoyok Golpo," is a story about four friends who shares their crime fantasy. I play the character of a person who fantasises about killing of his own wife. Everyone in that hangout session shares their own crime fantasies.
The audience will also get to see the much loved actor in an interesting drama "The Bedsheet" on ETV in the third of Eid. The story written by Dr Jahidul Hasan and directed by Imam Ripon is a drama that narrates the tale of a married couple whose luck changes overnight. Depressed Shotabdi meets a fakir who gives him a dirty bed sheet. After using the bedsheet, their luck takes a twist and fortune knocks on their door. Every night, he begins to earn taka five thousand per hour. Hence, Shotabdi decides to leave his job. On the other hand, in exchange to a luxurious material, his wife sells the dirty bedsheet to a hawker. After resigning from his job, he comes back home and sees that the fortune turning magical bedsheet has been sold. The incident makes him procrastinate about the old pavilion.
