Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 34 people while they were trying to enter India through the Putkhali border on Wednesday night, reports UNB.
Lieutenant Colonel Taif-ul-Haque, commanding officer of 23-BGB Battalion, said, acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested 34 people, including five women, while they were trying to go to India without any legal documents.
Later, the arrestees were handed over to Benapole port police station.
Sources said the arrestees hailed from different areas in Kushtia and Gopalganj districts.
