Update : 05 Aug 2013, 03:25 PM
The district administration at a meeting yesterday chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest of Muslim religious festivals, likely to be held on August 9.   As a part of the programme, in the morning the national flag will be hoisted above all government, semi-government, non- government and autonomous establishments, while the Eid-Mubarak flag will be hoisted at the circuit house and on road dividers in the streets of the city.   The decision was divulged during a preparatory meeting held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner, with Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mesbahuddin in the chair.   The main Eid jamaat will be held at 8.30am in the Khulna circuit house grounds while the second Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at the city's jam-e-mosque at 9.30am.   The Eid congregation will be held at 8:am, 9:am and 10:am respectively at the Town jam-e-mosque.   Meanwhile, all the mosques under KCC have arranged Eid congregations.    On the day, the administration of Khulna jail, government hospitals and government orphanages will serve special foods.
