Two dacoits were beaten to death by an angry mob in Kazirchar village under Raipur upazila, Laksmipur district early Thursday.
The identities of the dacoits could not be known immediately, reports banglanews.
Sources said a gang of armed dacoits entered the houses of two locals named Sharif Hossain and Mizanur Rahman around 2:30am.
Meanwhile, the locals informed police about the dacoits.
Upon the arrival of police, the dacoits opened fire, forcing police to shoot back, leaving two dacoits injured.
The angry locals later beat them to death.
15 others sustained bullet wounds in the crossfire.
Raipur Police Station Sub-Inspector Abul Bashar confirmed.
