The bodies of five people who went missing in a trawler capsize in the Kazibacha River in Batiaghata upazila on Monday have been recovered.
Four of the victims were identified as Sabur Fakir, 55, son of late Ali Bakhs of Birat village, Nuru Sheikh, 60, son of Ahmed Ali of Talbunia village, Sabbir Hossain, 11, a student and son of Nur Hossain, and Mahtab, 38, son of Goni Mollah of Phulbari village, says a UNB report.
A trawler with 100 passengers on board capsized in the river near Jalma Kheyaghat in Batiaghata upazila while they were going to the upazila headquarters to watch a football match on Monday morning.
A man drowned and five people went missing while the rest managed to swim ashore.
The body of one of the missing people was recovered on Tuesday evening while that of four others were retrieved on Wednesday morning.
