Police recovered two decomposed bodies from Mridhabari dumping station in Matuail in the capital on Friday morning.
Sources said city corporation cleaners found some human body parts wrapped in seven sacks when they went there to dump waste. Later, they put those body parts into three sacks and informed police, said on-duty Ansar members. Demra Zone Senior Assistant Commissioner of police Minhazul Islam told Dhaka Tribune: " Police recovered seven legs, three hands, parts of two heads and 13 pieces of bones from inside those sacks. It is being estimated that the parts were of at least two bodies."
He said: "The body parts have mostly dried up as chemicals were being used on those. It looks like the victims were possibly killed at least a month ago and the sacks with the body parts were thrown in the dumpster in between 11pm and 3am."
OC Mizanur Rahman of Jatrabari police station said the body parts have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for DNA test.
