Two people were killed as a truck overturned after hitting a covered van at Fakir Bazar inChauddagram, Comilla on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Sufal, 35, from Sariakandiupazila inBogra, and Monwar Hossain,23,from Khetlalupazila,Joypurhat district.
Police said the Chittagong bound rice-laden truck from Bograhad turned turtle near the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 6am after having collided head-on with a covered van coming from the opposite direction. Sacks of rice had fallen on the truck’s two passengers, leaving them dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and seized the two vehicles.
