At least 30 passengers were injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside canal in Pathra area under Maheshpur upazila of the district Saturday morning.
Officer-in-charge of Maheshpur police station Akram Hossain confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
Local people and the injured passengers said the bus skidded off the road and jumped into a canal as the driver lost his control over the steering at 9:30am leaving at least 30 passengers injured.
The injured were rushed to Maheshpur upazila health complex.
Contacted, the on duty medical officer of the health complex said six of the injured are in critical condition.
