30 injured in AL, BNP clash

At least 30 people were injured in a clash between activists of Awami League and BNP at Mikhait village in Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon, UNB reports.

Offices of both parties, as well as several motorcycles, were vandalised and torched during the melee.

Locals said the clash had ensued around 5pm when local Awami League men were holding a meeting at their office to chalk out programmes to observe the National Mourning Day on August 15.

A chase and counter chase took place during the melee that left 30 people injured from both sides.

Upon being informed, police arrived and brought the situation under control.

Two youths were arrested from the spot.
