Three children of a family drowned in a pond in Sujanagar upazila, Pabna, on Friday.
Rehan, 5, Omi, 8, and Shumaiya, 7, came to their grandfather's residence in Khalilpur village, Sagarkandhi union, few days ago for the Eid holiday.
Quoting locals, police said the children fell into the pond and drowned when they were playing nearby the pond adjacent to the house around 10am.
Family members recovered the bodies after a frantic search.
Meanwhile, Nahid, 7, was killed in a road accident in Vatkura on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the sadar upazila on Friday.
He was a first grade student at Hatila Government Primary School.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Tangail model police station, said a pick-up van crushed Nahid while he was going to offer Eid prayers with his father.
The body was sent to a local hospital for autopsy. A case was filed.
In Comilla, two people including a teenager were killed in a road accident on Friday morning.
Microbus driver Sohel, 30, and passenger Noor-e-Alam, 14, were killed as their vehicle flipped over at Nimsir Point in Burichong upazila on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway after its rear tires suddenly became punctured.
