Police recovered the body of a student of University of Liberal Arts (ULAB) from his house in city’s Lalmatia area on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sudipto Sarker Xitu, 31, son of Manindra Sarker and a final year student of Media Studies and Journalism Department at ULAB.
Family sources said Xitu had a love affair with a girl who was studying at the same university.
He committed suicide by taking sleeping pills on Thursday night as his parents refused to accept Xitu's relationship.
Muhammadpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Kamal Uddin said: “On information, police rushed in and recovered the body around 8am.”
