Rangpur chamber for safer transportations during Eid

Leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have urged all those concerned for improving the standards of services to ensure the safe transportation of incoming and outgoing passengers and goods during the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity.

The appeal was made at a views-sharing meeting organised by RCCI at its auditorium with officials, leaders and representatives of Bangladesh Railway (BR), Rangpur District Motor Owners' Association (RDMOA) and United Airways Wednesday afternoon, reports BSS.

President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the meeting and elaborately narrated the importance of ensuring the safe transportation of passengers and goods during the period of before and after the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity.

Azizul Islam, spoke on behalf of their respective organisations.

Leaders of RDMOA Mozahed Hossain Fulu, Mosaharul Azam Chowdhury and Motaleb Hossain Badal, BR officials Atik Ullah and Ibrarul Haque also took part in the discussion.

Senior Vice-president of RCCI Moztoba Hossain Ripan, its Vice-president Golam Zakaria Pintu, Directors Shah Mohammad Selim, Mostafa Ahmed, Monzur Ahmed Azad, Reaz Shaheed Suman, Fazlul Haque, Rabi Somani and Enamul Haque Sohel, also spoke.

Participating officials, representatives and leaders of different organisations adopted various decisions in improving the standards of transportation services being provided by their respective organisations on the grounds of their corporate social responsibility.

As per the decisions, drivers of passenger coaches will be directed for single shift and careful driving to reduce accidents, ensuring the passenger’s safety at numerous vulnerable spots in the city, stopping the black market for tickets etc.

The meeting also decided to seek cooperation of the district and police demonstrations, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and all other concerned organisations and authorities towards the directions ensuring safe transportation of passengers and goods during the Eid season.
