Non-government teachers demand Eid bonus

Update : 25 Jul 2013, 05:00 AM

Teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions formed a human chain in Barisal city demanding bonuses and salaries before Eid.

Bangladesh Shikkak Samity organised the demonstration in front of the Ashwini Kumar Hall, where they demanded full festival bonuses and June and July salaries before Eid-ul-Fitr.

Speakers at the programme said the teachers and employees had not yet received their June salaries.

The speakers fear that they will not receive their salaries before Eid as the vacation has already begun in all educational institutions.

They also criticised the present discriminatory payment system among the employees of government and private educational institutions.

Principal Faridul Alam Jahangir, Tofael Ahmed, Abdul Malek, Abdul Halim, Fariduddin, Jasimuddin, Dulali Goldar, Sonali Karmakar, Enayet Hossain, Mawlana Zahirul Islam and Asadul Alam, addressed the crowd, while Dashgupta Ashish Kumar, regional president of Bangladesh Shikkak Samity presided over the programme.
