Update : 25 Jul 2013, 03:37 AM

In memory of the Rana Plaza tragedy, four freelance photographers organised a daylong photography exhibition titled “Rana Plaza Collapse: Death of thousand dreams” in front of the collapsed Rana Plaza in Savar on July 24.

The exhibition featured 10 photos portraying the destruction and the agony of the Rana Plaza victims. The four photographers are Abir Abdullah, Ayon Rehal, Shuvo Das and Taslima Akhter.

Anzuara Begum, mother of missing worker Shantona, inaugurated the exhibition. Abdul Aziz, father of deceased worker Shawon, and Khadiza, wife of deceased worker Khokon were among the guests at the exhibition.

Abir Abdullah, the organiser of the event, said: “We plan to organise similar exhibitions on the 24th of every month in different industrial areas across the country. The next event will be organised on the BGMEA premises.”

Many injured workers of Rana Plaza and family members of the missing workers blocked the Savar-Aricha highway yesterday from around 10:30am for half an hour.

They alleged that many of the workers had not yet received compensation from the BGMEA and the government. They demanded compensation from the government before upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
