Two boys – both minors – drowned to death as their mother reportedly threw them into a pond at Aliara village, Nasirnagar upazila, Brahmanbaria, early Wednesday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Samrat, 3, and Tajin, 1: sons of Ali Akbar and Romena Akhtar, the alleged killer.
Local sources said Romena, threw her two sons into a nearby pond at about 2am following a family dispute.
She then tried to commit suicide. However, she was rescued and admitted to a local hospital in critical condition, said a local, Jamal Mia.
Family members said Romena had been suffering from depression.
