President Abdul Hamid Monday hosted an Iftar party in honour of the prime minister, speaker, chief justice, cabinet members, MPs, foreign diplomats, eminent citizens and senior military and civil officials at Bangabhaban.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain, attended the Iftar, reports BSS.
On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the prime minister was received by the president and his spouse Rashida Khanom.
The prime minister was accompanied by her family members including her son, Sajeeb Wajed Joy, and daughter, Saima Wajed Putul.
Ministers, advisers to the prime minister, state ministers, judges of the Supreme Court, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, members of parliament, foreign diplomats, commissioners of the national commissions, vice-chancellors of different universities, editors, senior journalists, a good number of eminent citizens and senior military and civil officials also attended the iftar party.
The president went round different tables set for the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them.
Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity for the nation.
Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Moulana Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.
