Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, one of busiest actresses in Bangladeshi entertainment arena in recent times, emerged as an actress by appearing on Humayun Ahmed’s film “Amar Achhe Jol.” Such an offer right at the beginning of her career, gave a big boost. She acted as the lead character of the film and it became a box office hit.
“The term ‘foundation’ is the most important factor in building a home. Likewise, the foundation of my career was built by the legend and he is the reason I became what I am today,” told the model-turned actress to Dhaka Tribune on the occasion of Humayun Ahmed’s 1st death anniversary. After winning the crown of “Lux Channel-i Superstar” in 2007, Mim made her debut in the film and she still considers it as the “turning point” of her life.
“Humayun Sir was a man of great heart and his contributions to my life cannot be expressed through words. I remember all his directions even today whenever I am in front of the camera.
As a director he was always passionate, patient, hardworking and to some extent, non-compromising. Since it was my debut on the silver screen, the whole thing was very new to me. Besides, the film cast included a lot of high-profile actors. So, very naturally, I was nervous. But Humayun Sir turned my nervousness into fun within in a very short time. He possessed a magical personality.”
Mim said: “To me, the most interesting aspect of his character was his exceptional sense of humour. With this quality, he used to make the shooting period full of fun.”
