The body of veteran Supreme Court lawyer Dr M Zahir arrived in Dhaka on Friday afternoon, a day after he died at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
A Thai Airways flight, carrying the body of the jurist, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 12:30pm.
Later, it was taken to Supreme Court premises for paying respects.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held after Jum’a prayers at Supreme Court premises and second his second janaza will be held in city’s Dhanmondi area.
He will be laid to rest next to his father’s grave at Banani graveyard.
The constitution expert died at Bangkok General Hospital on Thursday morning while undergoing cancer treatment. He was 74.
