First Secretary of Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah Md Jamal Uddin has been asked not to attend office until further notice for allegedly assaulting Assistant Foreign Secretary Tanvir Kabir in Jeddah hajj camp office on July 1.
A senior official of the ministry Thursday said they would soon form a committee to investigate the incident.
Jamal, also the deputy director of the National Security Intelligence, joined the Jeddah mission on May 4.
In his reports, Jeddah Consul General Nazmul Islam said Jamal had beaten Tanvir and hurled abusive at him. He also asked the headquarters to recall Jamal.
