Two separate cases, involving attempt to rape and demanding bribe, were lodged Tuesday against the officer-in-charge of Moheshkhali police station in Cox’s Bazar.
The complainants lodged the cases against OC Habibur Rahman in the court.
Tayoba Begum, 30, filed the case with Cox’s Bazar Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal court.
She described in her case that the OC tried to rape her as she went to OC’s house to talk about a case in which her husband was arrested.
The case statement mentioned that Tayoba was the second wife of her husband Abdul Gofur, who killed her daughter Sumi Akhtar on June 15, and police arrested him after the incident.
Tayoba went to OC’s house to talk with him about her husband’s case and he tried to rape her there.
Faruk Iqbal, an advocate, on the same day lodged the other case with Special Judge Court against the OC accusing him of demanding bribe from Faruk.
SI Prodip Mondol and SI Nazrul from the same police station were also accused in the second case.
Faruk mentioned in his case that the OC demanded bribe of Tk200,000 when he went to the police station on June 23 for some official work.
The advocate said the court has assigned the secretary of Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the case.
OC Habibur Rahman did not receive his phone while attempted to take his comment on the cases.
