A college student killed herself on Friday because of constant harassment by a stalker named Mithun Sarkar. Jhenaidah police have arrested Mithun from the Kumarkhali town in Kushtia yesterday.
The arrestee Mithun was the president of Bangladesh Chhatra League from ward 3 of the Jhenaidah municipality.
The deceased Mousumi Biswas was a student of commerce department in honor’s second year at the Jhenaidah Government Degree College.
The police said Mithun has already been expelled from the student’s wing of AL for his alleged involvement in stalking the girl.
As Mithun was a member of the ruling party, parents of the girl did not file a case accusing him.
They filed an unnatural death case but the local people, including the students pressed their demand to the district administration to take action against Mithun.
