Group art exhibition ‘Whistle’ on at Shilpangon

With six enthusiastic group of artist, a collection of artworks and installation, the exhibition titled “Whistle” was inaugurated at the contemporary art gallery, Shilpangan on July 5. The artists featuring Anika Mariam Ahmed, Tapan Halder, Fatima Munni, Umma Shohag, Iqbal Bahal Chydhory, and Amjad Akash presented their personal artistic character in a visual manner. The exhibition will continue till July 14.    Whistle a sound that is composed with the steam of air pressure, the rhythm formed in various shapes and designs that make a signature mark of an individual. To transform this echo visually, and perceiving an innovative style the title of the exhibition “Whistle,” is about the young artists who are driven by joyous flow of energy.    Akash has depicted the current controversial situation, both rebellion and peace that symbolises his personal thoughts. His work “Gono Jagoron Purbe” is about suppression and breaks free mostly in black and white.    Anika related her personal experience with the society and penetrated her emotions in her artworks. Anika’s self depicted works can tell her personal aspirations which is dramatised with expressionist modes that holds her realistic self patterns.    Iqbal’s philosophical interest is formed in an abstract and semiabstract manner. His work and source of understanding of relationship is interpreted as an essence of reality.     Paintings of Fatema Munni, seeks for feminine rights with sensual charm. The paintings are loud enough to say that silence is repression. Her artworks are photographic resonance that explains the fact that her models are aware of being captured on canvas.  Shohag focuses on the baked earth of clay as her expressive tool. The lines of the sculpture vertical and horizontal portrays the earth, the surface of the soil as paper.    Tapan Halder’s prints delve into the mythic creatures in a sculpture form. He tends to be an appreciator of historical tales and travels his observation in his artworks.   These artists’ different artworks show their approach in life through the medium of art. They tend to provoke their thoughts with symbolic forms of inventive creations.
