Border Guard Bangladesh will face Bangladesh Police in the final of the Walton Invitational Men’s National Handball at the Paltan Ground Handball Stadium on July 7.
In the semi-finals the day before, Border Guard Bangladesh ousted Chapai Nawabganj by 43-14 goals while Police ousted Chittagong Metropolis by 39-21 points in the second semi-final. The losing semifinalists will feature in the third place decider before the final. All the teams won their last group stage matches in the morning session.
SM Nurul Alam Rizvy, the chairman of the RB Group, will distribute the prizes as the chief guest.
The tournament was designed by the handball federation to keep the tempo of the players up after the Bangladesh Games that ended on May.
The federation invited top teams of the games as per the performance and saw Chapai Nawabganj and Chittagong Metropolis both display fine performances in the meet.
However BGB and Police who have a good number of national players in their team saw their prowess too much for the other contenders and duly reached the title decider.
