IGCC presents Abdul Kuddus Boyati’s Loko Shangeet

Prominent folk singer Abdul Kuddus Boyati is well known for his mesmerising rendition of Loko Shangeet both home and abroad, he is also a popular social activist.

He has been a strong campaigner against child marriage, dowry system and drug addiction in the world. The talented singer will perform at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre on Saturday at 6:30pm and will entertain the crowd with his heartwarming songs.

Abdul Kuddus Boyati commenced his musical career as a folk song artist at an early age and subsequently worked towards popularising traditional Bengali Folk songs worldwide through his performances not only in Bangladesh, but also in different parts of the globe. He has visited USA, UK, Australia, France, Qatar, Iraq, India etc for renditions of Bangla Loko Shongeet that has earned him global popularity and fame amongst music lovers of the world.

He has tirelessly worked towards creating public awareness towards prevention of AIDS, spread of primary education, forestation programmes, democracy, rural development and family planning through his music.

Abdul Kuddus Boyati has been the proud recipient of several national and international awards and has earned recognition for his brilliant musical renditions. He has been felicitated by the Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL) in 2011, Netrakona District Association in the USA, Rotary Club of Dhaka. He has also received the Bijoy Dibosh Podok in 1995 and award in the Rifles Week in 2005.
