Birth and death registration activities in the Rajshahi City Corporation area would be digitalised by the end of this year, discussants at a post-rally discussion on birth and death registration said on Wednesday.
Panel Mayor of RCC Shariful Islam Babu, who addressed the discussion as the chief guest, said about 60% registration works were already brought under online process and the rest forty percent is expected by hardly the yearend, reports BSS.
The RCC organised the discussion in observation of the National Birth and Death Registration Day-2013 at Nagar Bhaban premises in order to make the city dwellers aware on the issue.
Sazzad Hossain said the city corporation launched the online registration programme aimed at making the city’s birth and death registration activities more effective and transparent.
He urged upon all concerned to complete the online registration process accurately.
As part of the government’s effort to build digital Bangladesh, he said the corporation has been launching need-based programmes one after another to make the nation-wide digitalisation process a total success.
“We have earned fame in different national programs like NID, night time garbage removal and tree plantation and want to attain same success in this regard,” he added.
With RCC Ward Councilor Anwarul Amin Azab in the chair, Ward Councilor Md Tutul, Chief Executive Officer Ajahar Ali and Health Officer Dr Anzuman Ara Begum also spoke.
Earlier, the city corporation officials brought out a rally from the Nagar Bhaban compound and paraded some of the thoroughfares before converging into the discussion.
