India made a winning start in the 3rd Fiba-Asia U-16 Championship (South Asian Zone) qualifiers as they crushed Maldives 95-50 at the Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium July 2.
The winners led the first-half by 53-09 points.
Sunil and Mahipal of India scored 18 and 14 points respectively while Ramah of Maldives caged 10 points.
Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, the president of the Bangladesh Basketball Federation inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. Taslim Ahmed, head of corporate communications and public relations of Citycell was also present on the occasion.
