Bands Stone Free and 42 will present music at a programme titled “The Roadhouse Blues” at Café Mermaid, Gulshan Circle-2 tomorrow evening.
Stone Free, popular for covering classic rock and blues, will bring together Pink Floyd numbers and much more.
The band line-up contains Chhotu (vocal and guitar), Mishu (bass), Fahim (guitar and vocal). Nadeer(percussion and vocal) and Emon (drums).
42’s tomorrow’s repertoire contains The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout, “ The Doobie Brothers’ “Long Train Running, “ Phish’s “Funky Bitch, “ The Meters’ “Cissy Strut, “ Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer,” Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and many more classics ranging from 1940s to 1970s.
The line-up of the band includes a handful of talented young musicians: Akash on guitars and vocals, Shaveena on vocals, Yameen on guitars, Xahid on bass, Rahin on alto saxophone and Towfiq on drums. The dynamic band play funk, jazz, blues and pop and also experiment with different genres.
The two bands previous exciting performances and huge fan following promise to give another memorable gig tomorrow.
The bands will perform with a special style of “jam band”— musical groups whose live albums and concerts relate to a unique fan culture that began in the 1960s with The Grateful Dead, and continued in the 1990s with bands like Phish. Jam band encompasses a range of traditions including blues, bluegrass, funk, jazz, rock, psychedelic and even techno.
