Fahmida and Partha to perform at IGCC today

Update : 03 Jul 2013, 02:53 PM
Bangladesh’s  popular musical figures, Fahmida Nabi and Partha Barua, will perform at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre today 6:30pm. The duo are quite appreciated by the audience as they are both sensational onstage performers. Recently Dhaka Tribune caught up with the glamorous and gifted   Fahmida Nabi: What you are going to perform today?   As you can see we are jamming for our show. We haven’t decided on any lineup for our performance. Requests from our beloved audience will be on the top of our list. This is our duet show after a long time. We haven’t performed together since we acted as judges for the CloseUp1 reality show. I am looking forward to our performance as Partha and I are very compatible onstage.    Are you two planning on working on any project together?   Well, we enjoy working together. But, a real artist never looks for work and promoters, it’s vice versa, we are sought after. It is my belief that if our audience and promoters want us to work together, we will surely do so.   What are you working on now?    I am well occupied with shooting for various TV programmes and performing on stage shows. Right now, I am working on my next solo album titled “Ami Palte Jaini.” Almost 70% of the work is done and hopefully, it’ll be released very soon.   Fahmida Nabi commenced her musical career in 1979 and since then has been singing, writing and composing music that has helped inscribe a place for her in the hearts and minds of her many fans from all age groups in Bangladesh and abroad.    Partha Barua, lead singer of the popular Bangladeshi band, “SOULS,” commenced his musical career in 1989 with the release of his first album with the band in the same year. When Partha Barua joined “SOULS,” he initiated focus on contemporary Bangla music combined with Western music. In 1993, “SOULS” released their album “Ay Amon Porichoy” and followed it soon with the album “Aj din Katuk Ganey.”
