Four sports journalists honoured

Four veteran sports journalists and writers were honoured by Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) to mark the World Sports Journalists’ Day at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) auditorium Tuesday.

The journalists and writers are former national press club treasurer Biman Bhattacharjee, national award winner Mostafa Kamal, veteran sports writer Mohammad Selim and sports editor of The Independent Manjurul Haque.

BSPA has been honouring renowned sports writers and journalists for the last 18 years on World Sports Journalists’ day, which was being celebrated in 167 countries and is recognised by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). This is the first time that four people were honoured for the occasion.

State minister for youth and sports Ahad Ali Sarker was present as chief guest on the occasion. Secretary of Cultural Affairs Ministry Ranjit Kumar Biswas was also present as a special guest.

The function was presided over by BSPA President Hasan Ullah Khan Rana.
