3 robbers arrested in capital

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three alleged robbers from the capital’s Gulisthan area early Tuesday, reports UNB.

The arrestees are as Rabiul, 24, Kurban, 22, and Yeasin, 26.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Assistant Commissioner Jahidul Islam said that they had information about a gang of 10-12 robbers taking position near Golapshah mazar (shrine) in Gulisthan at 12:30am.

Sources said the robbers opened fire at the DB officials when they approached them, forcing them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight.

Later, the three alleged robbers were arrested in injured conditions while their associates managed to escape.

Meanwhile, DB constable Azizur Rahman was also injured in the gunfight.

All of the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
