Tribute to Mita Noor

Television actress Mita Noor found dead at her Gulshan avenue residence in Gulshan Monday. Whether she committed suicide or was murdered is yet to be investigated.

The cultural arena has become deeply shocked after getting the news. A number of celebrities shared their reactions and sorrows with Dhaka Tribune.

Bipasha Hayat: “I simply cannot believe the news. Every time I met her she used to talk about her children. If she has really committed suicide, how could she ignore her children? I am deeply shocked and I want to tell everybody that no frustration is can surpass the cost of a life. I want proper investigation of her death.”

While talking about Mita Noor actor Sharmili Ahmed said, “I cannot even imagine Mita is no more. She cannot do this. She was very lively person in media. I cannot accept the news.”

Director and actor Salauddin Lavlu said, “If she were young then it could have some possibility. But she was a senior actor and she had a happy family with two sons. How could she do this? I am in grave shock.”

Silver screen actor Dity said, “She was really very practical in real life. I cannot believe she could commit suicide. Just few days ago she visited my home with others and she seemed to be very happy. I rushed to her house after hearing the news. But, I could not see her face for the last time. May her soul rest in peace.” 

Director Chayanika Chowdhury said, “I have never worked with her earlier. But I promised her few days back to her in my next Eid drama. I cannot believe she is no more. I am feeling really very sorry for her.”

Actor Mir Shabbir said, “Mita Noor is like my sister. I acted in the play “Choungaly” directed by her. I have lots of memories with her. I have no idea why she had done it.”

Mita Noor is a very well known face in the TV media from the 90s. In 1989, she debuted in the drama serial titled “Shagor Shecha Shadh.” In 1992, she became a popular face after appearing in the TVC of “Olympic Battery,” directed by Afzal Hossain. After that, she became regular in the small screen.
