With a vision of keeping the tempo of the players high Bangladesh Handball Federation has organised an Invitational National Men’s Handball tournament from July 6 at the handball stadium. After the completion of Bangladesh Games all the sports federations have shut down the plans of their respective national meets, but the handball federation thought different as they picked up the top 10 teams from Bangladesh Games to compete. The federation also secured Walton as their sponsor. Walton has been sponsoring various sporting meets of the country, but this is their first involvement in handball. The participating teams are Border Guards Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police, Chittagong Metropolis, Chapai Nawabganj, Jessore, Kushtia, Mymensingh, Madaripur, Sunamganj and Chuadanga. Asaduzzman Kohinoor, the general secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation said they are mulling an invitational international meet in the near future. FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, the additional director of Walton and Zobera Rahman Linu, the sports ambassador of Walton, were also present during the occasion. “We are here to be with Walton,” said Dawn.
