Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 3

The low over the Northwest Bay off West Bengal-Orissa coast moved northwestwards and now lies over Orissa and adjoining area.

Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay. Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports, according to a Met office bulletin.

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no 3.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
