The humble youngster shared his feeling with Dhaka Tribune: “I have taken initiative to participate in this tough competition to prove myself and also make a platform for my musical career. It is difficult for a novice musician to start career in this industry. All throughout the competition, I have sung songs of different renowned artists as it was the rule. I have many songs composed and written by me, I will soon start working on compiling all my own work.”
“I don’t have any professional training as such, I don’t believe in musical grammar and its use. I believe in the sound that comes from deep inside the soul. I Idolise Bob Marley, Jim Morisson, Dire Straits and from home I admire James, Azam Khan, Firoza Begum and many others.”
“My maternal grandfather is a baul devotee and his music inspired me to step into the world of music. Starting from this traditional genre, I have listened to almost all the musical genres and learned to appreciate music in general.”
He was chosen as the title holder from an ensemble of six finalists - Sajal, Bely, Raju, Cornia, Iva and Shami. All the talented youngsters have paved their path to the grand finale by facing challenging and demanding rounds of competition. The programme was telecast live from the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at 7:30pm on Channel 9. Performances of eleven participants were presented during the programme. Beautiful and gifted Ankhi Alamgir was emcee of the event, where as diva of the music world Runa Laila led the three-member judge panel of the reality show that included popular singer-musician Bappa Mazumder and music director Emon Saha. l
