Police have recovered the body of a BNP leader from Panchmail area, under sadar upazila in Khagrachhari, yesterday.
The deceased was Chan Mia, 42, general secretary of BNP at Kobakhali ward No. 4, under the district’s Dighinala upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of sadar police station, Mustafizur Rahman, said that, acting on a tip-off, the police recovered the body and sent it to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
The killer had cut the victim’s throat, leading to his death. It is suspected that the victim might have been killed over a previous enmity or for ransom; OC Mustafiz said adding that a murder case had been filed.
