Two youths died from a lightning strike in the capital’s diplomatic zone on Wednesday afternoon.
Rafiqul Islam, officer in charge of Gulshan police station, said lightning hit Sohel and Ashim while they were having a conversation sitting on the pavement on Dutabash Road in Baridhara diplomatic zone around 2:45pm.
Doctors at United Hospital pronounced the victims dead when they arrived after being rushed to the hospital, added Rafiqul.
Police assumes victims’ ages to be 18-19 years old. No further details of the victims could be known immediately.
