A fire broke out in a spinning mill in the Bakultola area of Shreepur upazila, Gazipur on Monday.
The flames destroyed goods including raw materials and machinery, but the monetary amount of the loss couldn’t be confirmed by the authorities.
Anisur Rahman, manager of the spinning mill, said the fire broke out around 10am. On receiving the call, firefighters from Gazipur rushed to the scene and were able to douse the blaze within half-an-hour.
Abu Zafar Ahmed, station officer of Gazipur Fire Service, said the fire might have originated from an electrical short-circuit.
