The government has declared general holiday in four city corporations – Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet and Barisal on June 15, to encourage the voters cast votes with enthusiasm.
Election Commission has set June 15 for casting votes to the aforesaid city corporations.
A Public Administration ministry order issued on Monday said the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous, and non-government (NGO) offices located in the aforesaid city corporation areas will remain closed on June 15 for the polls.
Besides, the public and private schools and colleges situated at these city corporation areas will also remain closed on same ground. However, the public examinations which were scheduled earlier will be taken as per the schedule, the order read.
