The Citycell 1st Division Basketball League 2013 will commence at the Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium tomorrow. Wraiths, The Shaons, Cantonians, Old DOHS, Josephites, Mohammadpur Basketball Club and The Gregs are taking part in the meet. The top two teams from 1st division will qualify to play in the Citycell Premier Division Basketball League 2013, which is scheduled to start later this month. A total of 10 teams will feature in the premier division. The eight confirmed teams are Europa Youth, The Gregarious, Dhumketu, Eagles, Rangers, Hornets SC, Flame Boys and Bokshibazar. The qualifiers of the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) U-16 Fiba Asia Basketball Championship will be held in Dhaka from July 3- 5. India, Maldives and Bangladesh have confirmed their participation, while Bhutan and Sri Lanka’s are still uncertain. Inter-district U-16 Basketball Championship and South Asian 3-on-3 tournament will also take place in August this year. These details were revealed at a press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium yesterday.
