I am not doing any film: Shakib Al Hasan

Update : 06 Jun 2013, 04:43 AM

Recently, a report was published in some daily newspapers about Bangladeshi all-rounder cricketer Shakib Al Hasan’s debut in the silver screen. But confusion has arisen since Shakib denied the fact of appearing in the film named “Shob Kichhu Pechhone Phele” by Razibul Hossain.

The director of the film, however, claimed that he had completed shooting parts of the film where “Shakib appears as a special character.”

Razibul Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune: “As a title sponsor of the movie ‘Shob Kichhu Pechhone Phele,’ Fuji Film provided its brand ambassador Shakib Al Hasan to act in a special guest role.”

In an exclusive interview with the Dhaka Tribune, the international superstar cleared the confusion. “The news was shared on social networks and caught my attention. The information in the report and what they share on the social networks has no relation to the reality and is misleading,” he said.

“I have not acted in any film in Cox’s Bazar,” Shakib said.

He told the Dhaka Tribune that he had done shooting for an advertisement of the Fuji Film at Cox’s Bazar. “The same shooting crew shot the film and the TVC at the same location, which created the confusion.”

Shakib said: “I have already contacted the authorities of the Bangla film and asked them not to publish ‘false’ information in the media. I might also make legal move if necessary.”

When contacted, Fuji Film General Manager Faruk Ahmed said: “We are unable to make any comment publicly right now.”
